Yard updates

My Dog decided that digging up my beds would be a good idea
I painted the white pots black and planted these beautiful flowers and added some pinwheels that each one of my girls painted

This is Kailyn's masterpiece

And this is Amanda's masterpiece

We got new pavers for our walkway

We put the old pavers at the end of our covered patio, we just need to dig them down to the ground because you can easily trip over them

Another view of the new pavers, we also added some to the entrance

My girls enjoying a game of Dominoes

What I've been up to...

So I finally made something!!! I've been concentrating on my yard that I have a million and one crafts to get to.   This is sort of related to my yard though...it's going into my covered porch.

Any hoot, I got these 2 planters at the Dollar Tree. I heart Dollar Tree.

I already had these dowels I just cut them to the size I needed
(as an added plus - they were already painted)

Then I added some moss to the pot

And voila (I also added moss to the half spheres that I glued together)

I used hot glue, and I missed a couple of spots, I need so sort of spray glue or something easier to get the spots that are missing moss

So I added these little birds. Aren't they the CUTEST!

And this is their resting place.  Like I said I still have to glue some patches that are missing moss but overall the project is done!!!

BTW, my clock stopped at this time and I haven't gotten around to putting new batteries! oy!!!

Working hard on my yard...

Yes, I'm working super hard on my yard, trying to get it ready for the summer months here in NY.
We love to be in our yard all summer long...

Here is the entrance to the backyard all ready.  We finally planted on the left hand side and with perhaps the addition of some impatients to give the walkway some color, I think we are done.

Yes, that's a white pvc fence, our neighbor waited patiently until we put up our wood fence before they went and put up their pvc.  We discussed putting one fence to divide the space and share the cost, I guess  they went the other way, regardless makes my space look nice! Thank u!!!! ha

Here is the back, we planted by the fence to give the yard some character.  I love how it looks, again we might add some color with flowers, but maybe we wont.  We are trying to grow our grass because we cut our tree...I hope we get something before the summer hits!

I am planting flowers on those pots on the stands to give that corner some much needed pop of color and to greet our guests with some color

I really hope we get some grass growing in these spots!

There was once a tree here...I hope we get some grass here now!

You can see the door now where guest will enter through the pathway, I'm actually sitting on the swing across the yard, we plan on moving the swing to the corner, we have a special piece coming in right here.

And this is the corner where we plan to move the swing too.  We have a door back there but that's just for emergencies, and for when anything goes over the fence, a ball that sort of thing, we have no neighbors behind us! Yippee

awwww color....see my covered patio? yeah we fenced it because we don't want our dog to do its business in the yard, trying to steer him away from that, so he goes only on his walks

And here is my patio table, we need a much bigger one, but that'll be another year.  We plan on getting a gazebo now we do not have a tree for shade

The girls having their first dinner outside...we love doing this in the summer!!! :o)

hhmmmmm my umbrella is kind of crooked, need to fix that...oh there you can see the swing
And my tablecloth, I don't have one that goes right with my furniture I just threw this one on, I think it's fun for now...have to hit HomeGoods and find me the perfect one...

A glimpse of my covered patio, I just pushed everything together, since finally all the furniture that's extra is in the shed.  I have to power wash this patio and paint the ceiling and then it'll be ready for entertaining, you know, I need to paint that tray....I was thinking brown and then destressing it show the white through? what do you think? Oh you see those pretty canisters just got them for mother's day from my sister
And that's all for now.
I still have more things to take care of, perhaps get a new rug for this space, clear it out a little better
will keep you posted on all my updates

Hope you're having a good day

Hello May :o)

Here are some updated pics of the backyard as it's coming along.....

we put up the back fence, put up 2 planters on the fence and got some plants....haven't planted them yet...

We also got a shed...

we moved our swing and bbq to the other side of the yard, I think it'll work out better here...

more pics...

this fence is about a year and a half old...

new shed from another angle...you know this 7x7 shed can really hold a lot of stuff!!!

view from the swing side

So now that the backyard tree is gone, the birds have decided to do their nest here!!! I can't bear to destroy this nest...the momma bird flies in and out of there....

oh  the beautiful signs of Spring...

One last shot from my covered patio....I'm loving the view...okay DON'T look down...yeah we're not doing a brick/wood patio....one step at a time...at least the fence is new...may not be pvc, but it still looks nice....I don't think I'll mind spending my summer days looking at this view...
