An Update:

My hallway renovation  has begun...well actually we're half-way there. I'm so happy with the results so far....check it out...

Starting the process...

Step 1: Paint...

 Step 2: apply wallpaper

Step 3: put up chair rail

  and more....

 and a little more...

We're still on step 3 because we need 2 more pieces to finish off my hallway/entrance. That should be taken care of today.

Tomorrow I will paint the wallpaper, chair rail, moldings, etc.,

Thursday, perhaps I can put my bench back in there so my kids can have a place to throw their book bags.

And Friday I can possibly just stand back and love it and then think about how I want to decorate it.   just that alone is all worth it!!!

Now, back to work I go!!!!

Do you remember?

I told you that once my roof was repaired, I would have to repaint my hallway/entry/foyer?

Well, it's about that time.
Here are some current pics of my entryway

This is what you see when you enter:

A view from the other side:

This view is from my kitchen doorway, that's the front door
A view to the right of the front door (still from kitchen doorway)

This view is from the front door (I have a long entryway)
So now that you get the picture, so-to-speak, I can tell you what my ideas are.  The roof caused water damage. So we have to repaint this entire hallway. The paint is about 3 years old, and I guess it doesn't hurt to update it. Oh yeah, that's my bench and some baskets for when my kids get home from school and drop everything and run. really they do that.

First, I am repainting. Still deciding on a color.
Second, I am taking all the wall hangings down. The only thing going back up in this hallway is my mirror. I love that mirror. It was a housewarming gift from my family.
Third, I am adding this to my entryway:
Yes...beadboard wallpaper. I am SOOOOO excited. My entryway needs something interesting and and I know it's gonna be great.  This is actually a project that needs to be done.  We are starting it this weekend.  Wish me luck. I hope to have FABULOUS pics for you by next week.

Oh yeah and while at Lowe's we picked these up:

This is where they are supposed to go.  Let's see how that goes.  Again, I will keep you updated and will take tons of pics.

Excuse the quality of my pictures. It's my cell phone. I know the quality isn't great, it's all I have to work with because I don't want to upload pics from my real camera for now!!!

Oh yeah and in between these projects, I am still putting my daughter's room "back to normal" I'm not getting a good response from my husband on painting the room, so I guess it'll have to do for now.   I'll post pics when all the furniture is back in.

Back to work I go....

Happy Monday!

Guess what I have another project for you to check out that has actually been on the back burner for about 1 1/2 years.  Yeah I know, craziness!!!!

My daughter's room. We put in laminate wood floors.  We were dying to take off the ugly, nasty rug and replace it with something else, anything else!!!! So these floors hopefully will last a good 5 years until we can do the "real thing"!!!! Enjoy!

BEFORE:

what yucky carpet!!!

 AFTER:
So happy the old carpet is GONE!!!

Beautiful!!!

Let's be hones, I moved into this house 3 years ago (Okay next week it'll be officially 3 years) and I went crazy with COLORS. My girls wanted pink so here you go HOT PINK room. Now I want to tone it down.

I want to get my hubby on board to change the color. He looked at me like I have 3 heads.  I told him I will paint it all by myself.
I'm trying again today. Wish me luck. And if I get lucky then you'll see some updated pics of her new color.

I purposely didn't allow him to put all the furniture back in because I want to repaint.  I told him that it's because I want to look through all her stuff and get rid of some things.  Spring cleaning.  He was like ''hhhhhmmmmm sure" I have a bigger plan.

Again, wish me luck!!!

Free Rocks!

Do you craiglist?
Well I recently became obsessed...
First it was my fireplace cover...
then it was
FREE
ROCKS...
Remember I'm doing my patio? (well this wasn't actually for my patio but it did fit in with landscaping....)

So here are my free rocks:
Here 's hubby taking it off the truck
This is where the rocks are going to go
another shot

what a mess!!!! Hubby did it all, it's all done, well I should say the rocks are in place but the job is not complete...add this job to our list of incompletes...
I'm sure everyone has at least ONE incomplete job somewhere...(help me out here)

So an update on yet another project yet to be finished....
Tomorrow I'll show you how the rocks look all put together and what the plans are for this space.

Good night!

Weekend Update

We've decided to do a patio floor.  We've opted for pavers.  I know HUGE job, hubby isn't quite thrilled  since he's doing the work...we need some kind of patio, we put our furniture on this patchy ground in our backyard and after 3 summers, I'm over it.

Here he is measuring - we have to frame out the space

starting to dig so we can frame our area

this is really hard, since we have that tree, smack in the middle of our yard, all the roots make digging that much harder...

cutting roots....this bit of concrete that you see here is sort of an enclosed-patio that we have and it's great for when it's raining and such, but on a beautiful hot day, we put our patio furniture out so it's sort of extending this bit that peeks out....hopefully it comes out beautiful...

Oh and I wanted to share with you how my tables look in the bedroom with my new curtains

the sun was out and so the pictures do not look great and it's also on my phone so the quality isn't great

Just had to show my HomeGoods buy...luv that store!

So, thank goodness that the table and the curtains are all done in my bedroom. Now onto the next projects. I will keep updating you on the patio as we proceed....it'll be a long process but I know that I will be happy with the results!!!

Excited!!!

Look @ what I found on Friday...

This beauty was waiting for me...(please ignore my decor - this was just staging...needed to get a feel for this piece)

I'm going to give her a new paint job...

and then I"m going to love her even more!!!

Right now she'll just wait until I get to her...

Hope you had a great weekend...I have tons of projects...many are just thoughts in my head, some have already had a start, and some others are in the middle...I have to tend to those projects before I can start anything new...How does that happen, you go from one thing to the next...I can't seem to finish ONE thing!!!! That's my focus for this Spring...finish what I have started...like how can I start another project when I have so many lingering!!!!

I would like to spend May planting flowers so I have about 6 weeks to finish my unfinished projects!!!!
And I will keep tabs on all my projects on here...that way I can feel responsible if I don't post!!!!

Friday shopping!

Today I headed out to buy detergent...but I stopped and couldn't leave these lovelies behind...

I plan to do something cool with these frames:

I don't have many plastic easter eggs, so I thought why not...only 1 buck...and I'll come up with something before Easter...there is tons of inspiration in blogland...

I've actually been looking for this letter...the first letter in our Family name....but it's small but for now it will do what I need...needs paint - don't cha think?

And this...well, it may stay like this....and may not...who knows...but I grabbed it just in case....

and that's all folks, I won't show you the tide, and miscellaneous cleaning supplies I picked up cuz that's just weird! lol

Toodles!!! Enjoy the weekend!!!! I'm gonna go meet my friend's daughter who was born on Monday...awww the smell of a newborn....
